UNDERGROUND FINDS

Solo Ausstellung Unterirdische Funde, 2026, Kunst in Heilandkirche, Berlin

What was once forced deep underground by mighty forces of nature now appears as a fossil or archaeological find and becomes a source of our understanding of the Earth’s history and the origins of humankind. In this way, nature acts as a preserving force: the past is preserved and – when rediscovered – shapes our self-understanding and world view. Myths and stories are brought back to life. Over the millennia, humankind has also preserved its own history through wall paintings or by burying sacred objects.
